Daddy was out of town for the weekend. And naturally we got our first snow! It was super cold and I was sick. Brent usually takes the dogs out with his Dad every day. He loves it! Its his job!! He loves being a helper! I asked him if he thought he could take the dogs out by himself. He said "Sure Mom! Sure!". He helped me all weekend! Below is a photo of him stripping down to his thermals. This is pretty much what we hear every night at family prayer. Brenton doesnt like to share any prayer. We always put Savannah in bed, and when we look back at Brent this is what we see... (photo above). He always begins praying once she is snug in bed. And then he follows with "Nite Nana Bug!" . He never forgets a prayer unless he falls asleep in the car. He never rushes his prayers and always pauses inbetween to give it thought. I love what a little example he is to us and his sweet little spirit.

Walk to the Park...

Everyday Mommy & Brenton walk to the Park to ride on the swings! We try and go with Daddy too but sometimes it doesn't work out. Brenton's latest thing is relaxing back in the swing! Brenton also loves to run around in the grass! (we don't really let him run around our house because of all the snakes! yuck!) Brenton loves having the park so close by!

Mothers Day & A Day of First's!!!

We went up to the mountains kinda near Eagle Mountain for a day of Off Roading (except Mommy didnt ride because i'm 8 months pregnant!) and cookout to celebrate Mothers Day. It was a day filled with tons of fun and First's for Brenton!

We have been brushing Brenton's gums since he was 3 months old! So he thinks its totally normal to brush every morning and night! After we brush we let him hold his toothbrush for a little bit. He loves the feeling of the bristles in his mouth! Brenton makes his Mommy proud!

Brenton's 1st Baseball Cap!!!

I've been saying since Christmas, I wanted to get Brent a baseball cap for this summer! Mainly because his hair is still not very thick. And I'm not to sure if he will burn like his dad!!!

After months of looking, I came up with nothing I liked! In the past month, as we have approached our vacation to Boston on the 9th. I decided, I would just buy Brent a Red Sox hat on our trip. Well my dad beat me to it! My Dad came for a short visit this past weekend and brought Brenton a Boston Red Sox Baseball Cap for his Birthday!!! It is so stinkin' cute on him! It makes him look so grown up! Brenton loves his new Hat! Shockingly he keeps it on! He wore it everywhere we went this weekend! Now we just need to get him a matching shirt! :)

Brenton got to pick out his 1st Birthday Cake! We found it at Walmart! Its a alligator/dinosaur made up of 2 cupcakes and tons of frosting! We put 3 choices in front of Brenton. Brenton enjoys Mommy's Cravings!

It is a known fact in our home and those who know us, that Brenton doesn't get a lot of sugar! One of Mommy's favorite things during her pregnancy is Ice Cream & Oreos! Brenton somehow got into the package of Oreos. So we let him enjoy and finish the one he started in his high chair! After he was done we cleaned him up and the first thing he grabbed was his tooth brush!!! What a good little boy! :)

1st Tooth!!!

Brenton got his 1st Tooth! His Lower Central Incisor, tooth letter P to be exact! :) (see chart below)

Yay!!!! It only took 11 Months for it to come in! As you can see he is 1 Month Late! I am very excited that his 1st Tooth came in so late! Being in the dentistry field, it is a known fact that the longer it takes, the better it is for there hygiene! Considering Mommy & Daddy have such excellent teeth, I'm sure Brenton will too! We started Brushing with Brenton at 3 Months! He gets so excited when we take out his toothbrush and toothpaste! :)

Brenton's 1st Visit to Disneyland!

Brenton had tons of fun at Disneyland! He got a 1st Visit Button! Along with his 1st pair of Mouse Ears, personalized with his name on it! His 1st Ride was Pinocchio! He wasn't sure what to think. As you can see he had the same expression throughout the day... really big eyes! We waited 2 hours to meet Mickey. And Minnie & Pluto came up to us and said hi!!! We were a little curious to see how he would react to them. Much to our surprise Brenton loved them! He smiled at them and reached for them to give them a love! It was so cute!!! Brenton got a few goodies from Disneyland. He got a Mickey Mouse Soccer Ball (his favorite toy now!), all of the boy character from disney movies for bath time, and a soft mickey mouse!

Brenton's 1st Christmas!!!

We went to Northern California this year for Christmas. Brenton got to be with his Grandpa & Grandma Thorpe, Great Grandma Hugie, Uncle Hunter, & Aunt Kendall. Unfortunately Aunt Whitney couldn't come! But we were thinking of her! :)

In the Thorpe House they get up super early to open presents! So Brenton had to woken up! He was beyond confused. As you can tell! Brenton got lots of fun presents from everyone! He is def a spoiled kid! He got probably 20+ books, Noah's Ark, Dump Truck, ect.

Brenton's 1st Thanksgiving!

Brenton had a wonderful 1st Thanksgiving! He spent the day with Mommy & Daddy. The night before Brenton watched Mommy prepare all the food for our feast! He tried Onions... which he wasn't crazy about. haha. As well as some carrots and bits of bacon.

On Thanksgiving Day, Brenton had his own bowl of Mashed Potatoes! We were still getting things together and put the mashed potatoes in his bowl with his spoon next to his high chair. Well we turned around to find Brenton feeding himself!!! haha. We couldn't resist to take a few pics! He also had some dark turkey, little bit of stuffing and a roll! He is such a good little eater!

9 Month Checkup!!!

Another Checkup has come! Crazy to think our next will be his 1 year!!! Brenton is now 20 lbs 5 oz! And 28 Inches Long! Both in the 45th %! However his head was 46 cm in the 75th %! So small boy with a big head! Probably explains all the bonks he gets from running into things. haha. Brenton has been taking so many steps lately! We know we are days away from Brent walking!

8 Months Old!

Brenton is 8 Months Old today! Crazy! He is such a big boy!

He still has yet to get those teeth in but you can def feel them in his gums. He loves to eat and has mastered chewing... or should i say gumming food to death. He has mastered crawling, standing, sitting, and I'm pretty sure any day he will be taking steps!!! We are thinking by Christmas he should be walking! :)

Brenton shakes his head no to every question you ask him. As well as as saying Mama when hes upset. haha. He is constantly watching Alan & I to see what we are doing. I can just tell he is going to be such a smart little boy!

He still loves the same toys and books. And loves to sit on the couch next to mom and watch the backyardigans together. He loves his Puppys! He often crawls over to them and talks to them!

Honestly I probably couldn't count how many times we have watched The Backyardigans. And if Brenton is fussy he isn't 100% fine until we put on his show! Obviously we try and limit how much he watches daily. But he just loves the Backyardigans!!! We have tried sooo many other shows but nothing! Its pretty bad when Alan & I know all the words to the songs and even the dance moves.

Lately his favorite thing to do is crawl up to the TV and sit right in front of it. Or pull himself up to stand and watch it. Personally I don't see how his little neck doesn't ache. We are constantly pulling him back. But usually after the 20th time we give in. haha.

Dinosaurs!

Well after much debate. Alan & I decided to go with a Dinosaur Room for Brenton's Big Boy Room! Granted he wont use it until hes 3 or 4 when he moves to a twin bed. But there is no going back! We bought the Complete Bed Set! And have already started collecting anything with Dinosaurs! As you can see its nothing bright or obnoxious. We went along with the same color scheme so we could use the same furniture. We have discovered Pottery Barn as a new Love! We are hoping that by the time Brenton is ready for his big boy room we will be in a house with his own bathroom... so we can get the Pottery Barn Dinosaur Bath Set! It is sooo adorable. Most of Brenton's clothes for 6-18 Months are Dinosaurs, Even his shoes! For some reason Mommy just cant help her sudden love of Dinosaurs on Brenton. Now we just have to find art work that matches! Which has been proving to us that is isn't as easy as it seemed. Good thing we have a while before we actually will need it.

Brenton gets a Walker!

We chose this Walker for 3 Reasons! 1. It matched his Room colors! 2. It wasn't big and bulky 3. It has a lock on the wheels so he cant go anywhere if we don't want him to. As you can see Brenton loves it!

Brenton's Rocking Horse

Every kid Needs a Rocking Horse! We found one at a yard sale for $5! We were soooo excited! Not only is it a Rocking Horse but it makes galloping and horse noises too! It currently sits on the top of Brenton's Bookshelf until he is a little older! We were just so excited about our find!

Brenton's Blessing!

Brenton has finally reached that age where hes actually interested in everything around him. As you can see he has discovered something new to try and eat. His Toes! He likes to play with his toys. (books, pooh, & his octopus.)

6 Month Checkup!
*
Brenton had his 6 Month Checkup today! Every Dr Visit Brenton has had a Special Visitor. Grandpa Culotta got to come with Brenton. Brenton is doing great! Brenton is 16lbs 14 oz, which puts him in the 40% percentile. Hes 26.5 in long, 50% percentile. And his Head is 44 cm in Circumference, 55% percentile. The Doctor has given us the okay to go ahead with Stage 2 in foods, cheerios, and baby sweets. She thinks that its great we keep his juices & water separate in sippy cups. And says that will help with the transition later to go much more smoothly.

6 Months Old!

Brenton is trying so hard to crawl! Its really quite cute! He gets up on all 4 take a step and then falls. Sometimes he looks really confused of what just happened. He can sit up for the most part. Although he does occasionally get a little to excited hes doing it and falls over. haha.
*
Everything and anything is going in his mouth. From toes to fingers, Mommy & Daddy's Hands, Books, Toys, ect. Sometimes while hes on his tummy he will stroke the carpet! Almost as if hes raking it with his fingers.
*
His newest way of talking is SCREAMING! Not just any scream... a super high pitch scream. It really hurts our ears when he does it. But I guess he has to show excitement somehow! haha.
*
Brenton's Loves are the Backyardigans, his Johnny Jump Up, and mostly the same toys hes been playing with. This past month we finally pulled out the Johnny Jump Up. At first he was a little confused what to do with it. He would keep his arms inside, and walk around in circles until it was so tight he couldn't go anywhere. Then he would lift his feet off the ground and spin until he wasn't wound up anymore. It took him almost a good 2 weeks before he realized he could jump in it. And oddly enough when we play the backyardigans for him he jumps up and down to the music and dancing!

Brenton loves to eat his Rice Cereal with Bananas in them. He absolutley loves Veggies! (except for peas) But isn't really a huge fan of Fruit! Apples seem to make him cough?! haha. He does love his Bananas though! Brenton has been drinking water in his sippy cups since month 3. So this past month we began giving him juice! Again Apple Juice makes him cough. He seems to really love White Grape Juice. We are anxious for the Doctor to give us the okay to try more things!

Brenton's daily Schedule is like clockwork! And we love it this way! He wakes up between 7 and 8am every morning. Around 10am he falls back asleep until Noon. Than hes up playing until his nap at 1:30. Usually he sleeps for at least a hour and a half if not more. Then up again to play. At 7pm is Dinner time. 8:20 we put Brenton down in his crib and by 8:35pm hes fast asleep. We are extremely lucky because he doesn't put up a fuss at all and doesn't even use a bottle to sleep. We just simply put on his Fisher Price Aquarium, close all the blinds, give our kisses and walk out of the room.
